Solar power generation increases by 24.9% in April: Releasing the energy production for April 2022, the National Bureau of Statistics of China said that in April, the total power generation touched 608.6 billion kWh, a year-on-year decrease of 4.3%. Meanwhile, the growth rate of solar power generation accelerated in April and increased by 24.9%, 8.1% faster than the previous month. However, the decline in thermal power expanded in April, and the growth rate of hydropower, nuclear power, and wind power too slowed down to varying degrees.

Xinte increases subsidiary capital by RMB 1.7 billion: Solar PV inverter company and silicon producer from China TBEA announced that Xinte Energy has increased the capital in its subsidiary New Energy Company with RMB 1.7 billion ($0.25 billion). With this, Xinte Energy now holds 75.75% of the shares of New Energy Company. TBEA said that this capital increase will enhance the financial strength of New Energy Company and also reduce the liability-to-assets ratio.

LONGi's 20 GW PV project settled in Wuhu: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi signs a 20 GW photovoltaic module production project agreement with the Wuhu Economic and Technological Development Zone in Anhui. The project will be constructed in two phases of 10 GW each. The first phase of the project is expected to be put into production in the second quarter of 2023; while the second phase will begin by the first quarter of 2023 and may be put into production by the second quarter of 2024.  Earlier this month, LONGi had supplied over 7 GW of solar panels (see China PV News Snippets).

Canadian Solar subsidiary tops ranking under Japan FIT auction program: Canada headquartered Chinese solar power company Canadian Solar announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Canadian Solar Projects K.K., together with its owned special purpose vehicles (SPVs), has topped the ranking of cumulative capacity of solar projects awarded under Japan's feed-in tariff (FIT) auction program. The company's cumulative successful bids of 180 MWac under the FIT auction program is nearly twice the volume of the company ranked second.
