JinkoSolar's BIPV project and 287.4 MW Tiger Neo contract; Tongwei's cell prices up by RMB 0.01 per W; Yingfa Deyao constructing 10 GW cell project; Golden Glass to invest in 4.8 GW HJT cell and module capacity.

JinkoSolar for BIPV project: JinkoSolar and Baodu International Engineering Technology will jointly build a building integrated PV (BIPV) project in China's Yulin city in Shaanxi province. JinkoSolar said it is the city's 1st near-zero carbon project for which they plan to use 1,080 high efficiency n-type crystal color BIPV modules on a rooftop installation area of 4,000 sq. mtr. Each module has a power output of a maximum 365W and 21.54% efficiency. They calculate the 1st year power generation from the project to reach 486,000 kWh, and over a period of 30 years it can reach 13,6554 million kWh. JinkoSolar said, "After completion, it will become an industry benchmark for coal enterprises to transform to green and clean energy and low-carbon emission reduction."

287.4 MW Tiger Neo contract: JinkoSolar has also separately announced securing an order for 287.4 MW n-type Tiger Neo bifacial solar modules from Yalong Hydro. Yalong will bring online the project in China's Yajiang county in Ganzi prefecture of Sichuan province. The company's VP Dany Qian said, "Our high efficiency n-type Tiger Neo panels have healthy order backlogs, the strongest pricing power seen in many markets and we are struggling to fulfill customer orders at low price level due to the chain effect caused by rising material cost."

Tongwei increases cell prices: On June 17, 2022, Tongwei increased the prices of monocrystalline PERC solar cells by RMB 0.01 per W compared to the last quote. After the increase, now the price of 210-size cells has been increased to RMB 1.18 per W, that of 182-size cells is now RMB 1.20 per W, and the price of 166-size cells increased to RMB 1.17 per W.

10 GW cell project under construction: Yingfa Deyao has started construction on 10 GW under phase I of its planned 20 GW high efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell production project. Located in Yibin city of Sichuan province, phase I will be followed by another 10 GW under phase II. The company expects the entire project to cost an investment of RMB 11 billion. Once all of 20 GW is online, Yingfa expects it to generate worth RMB 20 billion value on annual basis. The company currently has 2 cell production bases—Yingfa Ruineng and Yingfa Desheng—with a combined capacity of 6 GW.

Golden Glass to build 4.8 GW HJT capacity: Golden Glass has plans to invest in the construction of a 4.8 GW high efficiency heterojunction (HJT) cell and module project. To be built for an investment worth RMB 4.19 billion in Jiuquan, Gansu region the project is expected to take 18 months to complete construction through a specially formed subsidiary. While its board of directors has approved the investment proposal, it still needs to be cleared by the shareholders in a general meeting.
