US RETC confers Yingli with the Best Performance Award; East Hope to build PV industry chain project in Wuhai; Huasheng Energy HJT production line increases output; Akcome Technology begins new manufacturing project
Yingli wins RETC Best Performance Award: Chinese solar cell and module producer Yingli Solar announced that it has won the 'Best Performance' award, conferred by the US Renewable Energy Testing Center (RETC), who recently released its 2022 Photovoltaic Module Index Report that summarizes the bankability of PV module companies. Yingli Solar said it won this award for its excellent performance in 3 dimensions – quality, performance, and reliability. It was one of six companies to have won this award.
East Hope inks vertically integrated PV manufacturing deal with Wuhai government: Silicon manufacturer East Hope Group said that it has signed an agreement with the Wuhai Municipal Government. As per the agreement, the company plans to build a photovoltaic industry chain project in Wuhai. This project would include 62,500 tons of polysilicon, 10 GW of crystal pulling, 10 GW of wafers, 10 GW of cells, and 10 GW of module production facilities. The total output value of the project on completion will be about RMB 30 billion ($44.74 billion).
Huasheng Energy HJT production line touches new high: Solar technology company Huasheng Energy stated that Phase I of its 166mm heterojunction cell production line has reached a new capacity level by producing about 250,600 pieces in a single day. The output rate, which was initially 200,000 pieces/day has touched 125% of that earlier level now, the company said.
Akcome Technology begins new manufacturing project: Chinese solar cell and module producer Akcome Technology's RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion) manufacturing project in Donghai County has begun, local media reports said. The focus of the project is on photovoltaic power plants and modules. What is currently in progress is a 300,000-ton photovoltaic aluminium manufacturing project with an investment of about RMB 3 billion ($0.45 billion). This project will be developed in two phases, where the first phase will have a production capacity of 100,000 tons of aluminium products, and the second phase will have about 200,000 tons of aluminium products. In May this year, Akcome Technology had held a ground breaking ceremony for its 6 GW high-efficiency cell/module project (see China PV News Snippets)
