JinkoPower to raise funds to build PV power plants; Northwest 100 MW PV project begins construction; TCL Zhonghuan releases monocrystalline silicon wafer prices; Xinleixin Semiconductor 1 GW perovskite PV project begins; Seraphim to supply 1 GW of PV modules to Resolar in 2023.

JinkoPower to raise funds to construct PV power plants: Clean energy supplier and service provider, JinkoPower announced that it plans to issue no more than 868,307,900 A-share ordinary shares to non-public objects, raising about RMB 3.4 billion ($0.5 billion). The funds will be used to construct 300 MW photovoltaic power generation project in Xipo, 200 MW photovoltaic power generation project in Jinta, and 300 MW agricultural-photovoltaic project in Guangdong Agricultural Reclamation Hongyue Farm. Earlier this month, JinkoPower and Cummins had entered solar hydrogen partnership (see China PV News Snippets)

Construction begins for Northwest 100 MW PV project: Local media reports said that the 100 MW photovoltaic project constructed by scale survey and design enterprise established in China, Northwest Engineering Corporation Limited, has officially begun. The project is located in Baishui County and is one of the few large-slope photovoltaic projects in China as it is situated among ravines and mountains with over 70° slope. To ensure timely and successful completion of the project, Northwest Institute has put forward innovative technological measures such as complex mountain large-span cable-structured photovoltaic supports. The total investment of the project is about RMB 450 million ($66.5 million) and once put into operation will have an average annual power generation of about 157 million kWh.

TCL Zhonghuan raises P-type and N-type monocrystalline silicon wafer prices: TCL Zhonghuan has announced the latest prices for monocrystalline silicon wafers. Here are the details:

  • The 210 silicon wafers with a thickness of 155 μm for P-type monocrystalline silicon wafers is now priced at RMB 9.9 ($1.46) per piece, an increase of 3.979%. It was earlier priced at RMB 9.5 ($1.4) per piece.
  • The 210 silicon wafers with a thickness of 150μm for P-type monocrystalline silicon wafers is now priced at RMB 9.8 ($1.45) per piece, an increase of 4.02%. Earlier, it was priced at RMB 9.45 ($1.4) per piece.
  • The 210 silicon wafers with a thickness of 150 μm for N-type monocrystalline silicon wafers is now priced at RMB 10.42 ($1.54) per piece, an increase of 3.99%. Earlier it was priced at RMB 10.02 ($1.48) per piece.
  • The 210 silicon wafers with a thickness of 130μm for N-type monocrystalline silicon wafers is now priced at RMB 10 ($1.48) per piece, an increase of 4.27%. Earlier, it was priced at RMB 9.59 ($1.42) per piece.

Xinleixin Semiconductor 1 GW perovskite PV project begins: A mobilization meeting for major projects in Gansu province was recently held in Jinchang City, local media reports said. Among them was solar power generation technology services company Xinleixin Semiconductor's 1 GW perovskite thin film PV module project. Located in Jinchang Economic and Technological Development Zone with an investment of RMB 1 billion ($0.15 billion) the project covers and area of about 320 mu, and will be constructed in two phases. The first phase will focus on four production plants, R&D center, exhibition center and related infrastructure. The second phase will see the remaining production plants and supporting facilities being built.

Seraphim signs MoU with Resolar: Global solar product manufacturer Seraphim said in an announcement that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Luxembourg-based energy company, Resolar. As per the MoU, Seraphim will supply up to 1 GW of PV modules to Resolar in 2023. This development between both the companies is also aimed at deepening cooperation in the EU solar market. Earlier this year, Seraphim had rolled out new S3 & S4 series dual-glass modules (see China PV News Snippets)
