Dr Laser's first laser transfer equipment shipped; Risen to raise funds to produce high-efficiency HJT products; Xinjiang Dushanzi Tianli puts EVA plant into operation; Hubei Xingfa to raise funds for PV glue project; Production capacity of PV rolled glass rises in China
DR Laser ships first laser transfer equipment: Chinese laser integrator DR Laser announced that it has shipped its first laser transfer technology equipment, marking the company's progress in laser transfer technology development. With this, the laser transfer equipment used to produce high-efficiency solar cells has from the pilot stage, now officially entered the mass production stage. One of the key steps involved in photovoltaic cell fabrication is surface metallization, which has significant impact on cell efficiency, cost, and performance. With its non-contact surface metallization process, the laser transfer technology pioneered by DR Laser is suitable for the production of various types of high-efficiency solar cells such as PERC, TOPCon, HJT, and IBC.
Risen to raise up to RMB 5 billion for HJT products: Chinese solar panel maker Risen Energy said that it plans to raise up to RMB 5 billion ($0.71 billion) through fixed increase. The company has already got the approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission to issue stocks. The funds will be used towards the company's 5 GW n-type ultra-low carbon high-efficiency heterojunction cell and 10 GW high-efficiency solar module facilities, global high-efficiency photovoltaic R&D center project, and the balance towards the working capital. Currently, Risen's HJT cell production capacity is 500 MW. But with these upcoming two new facilities, there will be a leap in the overall HJT supply capacity of the company.
Xinjiang and CBPC EVA plant put into operation: Xinjiang Dushanzi Tianli High-tech Petrochemical Co., Ltd, which is a cooperation between Xinjiang Region and China National Petroleum Corporation has put their first 200,000-ton/year EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) plant into operation, local media reports said. This plant will produce high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE) pellets. In addition, it will also produce 16 grades of EVA resin products that can be used in solar photovoltaic film, ultra-high voltage wire and cable, high-end foam products, and other manufacturing fields. The products have good heat-sealing performance, are flexible and have strong impact resistance.
Hubei Xingfa Chemicals to raise funds for PV glue project: Phosphorus-based chemicals manufacturer, Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group Co, Ltd, said in an announcement that it intends to publicly issue convertible corporate bonds for about RMB 2.8 billion ($0.40 billion). Apart from other projects, this fund, after deducting the issuance fee, will be used to support a 80,000 tons/year functional silicone rubber plant. The plant will include a 50,000-ton/year photovoltaic adhesive (supporting 20,000-ton/year 107 silicone rubber) plant and a 30,000-ton/year liquid silicone rubber plant (supporting 20,000 tons/year vinyl silicone oil). The produced photovoltaic adhesive products will be mainly used in solar cells. Silicone materials with good sealing capacity, electrical insulation, and weather resistance properties have been widely used in the packaging and production of solar cell modules. Once the plant is operational, it will produce 50,000 tons of photovoltaic glue and 30,000 tons of liquid silicone rubber annually. The photovoltaic glue and liquid silicone rubber products will be sold directly to customers.
Production capacity of PV rolled glass rises in China: Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China announced that from January to August 2022, the nationwide new production capacity of photovoltaic rolled glass has risen by 55.1% year-on-year. Here are some more details:
