JinkoSolar to build 40 GW cell module facility; Huasheng New Energy's 7.5 GW vertically integrated module fab begins construction

JinkoSolar to invest in 40 GW solar cell module facility: Module supplier JinkoSolar and the People's Government of Yuhuan City have signed an investment agreement for a high-efficiency solar cell module production facility, local media reports said. As per the agreement, the facility will have a capacity to produce 40 GW photovoltaic modules and will have an investment of RMB 10 billion ($1.41 billion). The facility will be built in two phases, and on completion will have an annual output value of RMB 70 billion ($9.8 billion). Earlier this month, InfoLink Consulting's H1/2022 solar module shipment ranking had JinkoSolar on the top with 18.21 GW (see Top 10 Shipped 101.7 GW Solar Modules In H1/2022).

Construction begins for Huasheng New Energy's HJT fab: The groundbreaking ceremony for the 7.5 GW high-efficiency heterojunction silicon wafer-cell-module chain fab of Huasheng New Energy Anhui Xuancheng was held, local media said. This fab will include special silicon wafers, cells and modules for heterojunction; high-efficiency heterojunction cells and high-efficiency heterojunction modules. In July this year, Huasheng New Energy had spoken about its phase 1 HJT production line touching new production throughput highs (see China PV News Snippets).
