Construction begins for JA Solar 10 GW high-efficiency cell facility; CSG to build 37.6 MW distributed PV power generation project; CNNC Huaxing desert PV project begins construction; CNPC PV power station put into operation; Lifecome all set to acquire Jiangxi Weike.

JA Solar 10 GW cell facility begins construction: Solar PV panel manufacturer JA Solar announced on its website that construction has begun for its 10 GW high-efficiency cell facility at its Yangzhou Base. This was one of the major facilities among others to have begun in Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. With an investment of RMB 2.62 billion ($0.36 billion), this facility will apply new generation of high-efficiency cell technology and equipment to produce n-type high-efficiency cells. These cells will be meeting the needs of the global market. Meanwhile, JA Solar will be taking part in the 3-Day TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies—TOPCon, HJT and Beyond, Today & Tomorrow on Nov. 23-25. This event will see the participation of leaders from research, production equipment and materials supply as well as cell/module manufacturing and market analysis. For free registration, click here.

CSG to build 37.6 MW PV project in Anhui: Solar PV manufacturer CSG announced that using the factory roof of Anhui CSG New Energy Materials Technology, the company plans to build a 37.6 MW distributed photovoltaic power generation project. The total investment for this project is expected to be about RMB 147 million ($20.26 million), and the construction period will be about 13 months. The company also added that project funding would come from its own funds and bank loans.

Multi-GW CNNC Huaxing's desert PV project: Engineering construction company CNNC Huaxing said via WeChat that China's supposedly largest desert photovoltaic base being developed by the company and China Energy Investment Corporation – the 3 GW photovoltaic (Phase I) EPC project has begun construction. Located in the southeast of the Tengger Desert in Ningxia, this project has UHV transmission channel focusing on developing desert photovoltaic bases and delivering new energy. This first phase of the project is expected to be completed and put into production by December 30, 2022.

Lifecome to restart Jiangxi Weike acquisition process: Biopharmaceutical company Lifecome Biochemistry said in an announcement that it plans to restart the share transfer, asset placement and asset acquisition of Jiangxi Weike New Material Co., Ltd.  Jiangxi Weike is a photovoltaic adhesive film packaging materials manufacturer and is currently held by Macronix Center. In August 2022, Lifecome had announced that it plans to enter the photovoltaic film industry by acquiring 100% equity of Jiangxi Weike (see China PV News Snippets). Later it had suspended the move. With this announcement now, the company begins the acquisition process once again.
