Trina and Tongwei partner for PERC procurement: Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar announced that it has signed a long-term purchase deal for monocrystalline PERC cells with Tongwei Solar, the world's largest cell maker from China. As per the deal, Trina will purchase monocrystalline PERC cell products from Tongwei from January to December 2023. The total purchase amount is expected to be RMB 13.9 billion ($2 billion) and will include 2,368 MW of 182-size cells and 8,215 MW of 210-size cells.

Wuxi Utmost 150 MW perovskite PV line put into operation: Over a WeChat Communication, China based solar technology company Wuxi UtmoLight Technology Co Ltd said that its 150 MW perovskite photovoltaic production line has been officially put into operation. A full range of high-performance perovskite BIPV products and perovskite standard photovoltaic module products, such as power generation stone, transparent power generation curtain wall, and photovoltaic roof tiles will be launched through this production line. Once the line reaches full capacity, the annual output value can touch as much as RMB 300 million ($43.1 million), the company added.

Sunshine to build high-purity polysilicon facilities:  Jiangsu Sunshine Group said that it plans to build a high-purity polysilicon facility with an annual output of 100,000 tons and another facility that will have an annual output of 10 GW wafers, 10 GW cells and 10 GW modules in the Ningxia Shizuishan Economic and Technological Development Zone project. Initially, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, the company intends to construct a high-purity polysilicon facility with an annual output of 50,000 tons in Shizuishan. The investment in this phase will be RMB 5 billion ($0.72 billion). The construction will begin in the first half of 2023 and will continue for 1.5 years. The facility will touch production by the second year.

Qingdao Gaoce expands production capacity: Wire cutting machine producer Qingdao Gaoce Technology said over WeChat that it plans to invest RMB 210 million in a 5 GW photovoltaic large silicon wafer project. The facility will be constructed in four months. On completion, the company's shortage of slicing production capacity is expected to be alleviated. This is Qingdao Gaoce's third production expansion in 2022, following Jianhu (Phase II) 12 GW photovoltaic large silicon wafer facility; and Huguan (Phase I) diamond wire project with an annual output of 40 million kilometers. Currently, the company has 52 GW of silicon wafer production capacity that is in production, under construction, and to be built.
