Tongwei Announces Latest PERC Cell Prices & More From JA Solar, Drinda

Tongwei announces new prices for its monocrystalline PERC cells; Qujing City & JA Solar partner for cell/module fab in Beijing; Drinda raises RMB 2.83 billion.

Tongwei announces latest monocrystalline PERC cell prices: Integrated solar PV manufacturer from China, Tongwei Solar, has announced the latest prices for its monocrystalline PERC cells. Here are the details:

  • The price of 182 (150μm) cells is at RMB 1.15/W ($0.17/W), which is RMB 0.08/W ($0.012/W) higher than its last pricing, a rise of 7.48%
  • The price of 210 (150μm) cells is at RMB 1.15/W ($0.17/W), which is RMB 0.09/W (0.013/W) higher than its last pricing, a rise of 8.49%

Qujing City & JA Solar sign cell and modules facility 4th phase agreement: Over a WeChat communication, solar PV panel manufacturer JA Solar said that it has signed an agreement with Qujing City for the fourth phase of its 10 GW solar cells and 5 GW modules facility in Beijing. With an investment of about RMB 4.7 billion ($0.69 billion) for this phase, the construction will begin in May this year, and complete by May 2024. On completion and reaching capacity, the output value is expected to be RMB 12 billion ($1.76 billion). The total investment of the four phases is about RMB 17.3 billion ($2.53 billion), and will on completion, will realize an output value of RMB 50 billion ($7.3 billion).

Drinda raises RMB 2.83 billion to acquire 49% of Jietai Technology: Automotive instrument panel assemblies producer Drinda announced that it has issued domestically listed RMB ordinary shares (A shares) and raised about RMB 2.83 billion ($0.41 billion) (including the original amount). The raised funds, after deducting issuance expenses, will be used to acquire 49% equity of Jietai Technology, and also towards R&D of n-type cells,  working capital and to repay bank loans. Drinda had completed the acquisition of 51% equity of Jietai Technology in September 2021.
