Dali Huasun facility produces first HJT module; Regin Solar invests RMB 5.4 billion in cell & module facility; Bangjie Shares & Haitai Solar to jointly develop PV industry chain; Zhengqi Holdings to build 20 GW PV factory; Construction begins for CITIC Bohai's module aluminum frame facility.

Dali Huasun's 2.5 GW HJT facility produces first module: Chinese solar panel manufacturer Huasun Energy said via WeChat that its Dali Huasun's 2.5 GW high efficiency HJT facility – Phase 1 has produced its first module. The first phase is intended to produce G12-132 version HJT modules that are suitable for large ground power stations. This facility will see simultaneous application of bifacial microcrystalline, 20 BB process and phototransfer film materials in the mass production of heterojunction modules – the first facility to do so, it said. As it is combined with a unique butyl rubber packaging technology, the output power of the module can exceed the mainstream power of p-type modules of the same version by nearly 30 W, Huasun highlighted. By the end of this year, the first phase of the facility is expected to achieve a production capacity of 1.8 GW. Meanwhile, at the TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies 2022 – TOPCon, HJT and Beyond, Today & Tomorrow, Huasun R&D Director of Solar Cells Su Zhou shared details about Mass Production Status and Future Trend of HJT Solar Cells (See Su Zhou, Huasun: Mass Production Status and Future Trend of HJT Solar Cells)

Regin Solar invests RMB 5.4 billion in cell & module facility: Sustainable development company Regin Solar, over WeChat, said that it has signed an agreement with the Chizhou Economic and Technological Development Zone for a 10 GW TopCon cell and 5 GW BIPV modules facility. Spread across 600 mu, the facility will be constructed in 2 phases with an investment of RMB 8.2 billion ($1.19 billion). It is expected that once the first phase reaches completion, the annual sales income realized will be about RMB 5.4 billion ($0.78 billion).

Bangjie and Haitai Solar get into strategic deal: Seamless garment design company Bangjie Shares announced that it has got into a strategic partnership with green energy company, Haitai Solar. As per the deal, within 3 years from the date of signing the agreement, Haitai Solar will give priority to purchasing cells from Bangjie. Meanwhile, Bangjie will have the priority of supplying cells to Haitai Solar. Bangjie is constructing a high-efficiency photovoltaic cell facility, while Haitai Solar, being a module manufacturer, has long-term need for solar cells. Apart from this, both the companies will jointly focus on the overseas photovoltaic industry chain, and also work together for producing and selling silicon wafers, solar cells, and modules. Recently, Bangjie Shares had shared plans to buy solar cell production equipment (see China PV News Snippets).

Zhengqi Holdings to build 20 GW PV cell facility: Scientific and technological innovation company Zhengqi Holdings announced on its website the signing ceremony of its 20 GW high-efficiency n-type solar cell facility in Maanshan City. The facility will be built in 3 phases. Here are the details:

  • The first phase will have an annual production capacity of 5 GW high-efficiency n-type photovoltaic cells, and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation within 2023. This facility is expected to achieve sales revenue of RMB 5 billion ($0.73 billion) in 2024.
  • The 2nd phase will increase the annual production capacity by another 5 GW solar cells and 2 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic modules. Once this phase is put into production, the estimated annual sales revenue will be about RMB 14 billion ($2.03 billion)
  • In the 3rd phase, a new 10 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic cell facility will be developed after considering the market conditions

Construction begins for CITIC Bohai's module aluminum frame facility: China Aluminum Network announced on its official website that the second phase of CITIC Bohai Aluminum Technology (Chuzhou) facility with an annual output of 15 GW PV modules aluminum frame has begun construction. Spread across 300 mu, the total investment of the facility is about RMB 2.2 billion ($0.32 billion). The first phase of the project will be completed and put into production in December 2023. Once both the phases are put into production, the annual production capacity is expected to be 15 GW of aluminum frame for photovoltaic modules. It is anticipated that the annual output value can touch RMB 1.8 billion ($0.26 billion).
