TaiyangNews to hold Solar & Sustainability Conference on 30 March 2023; LONGI's 29 GW high-efficiency monocrystalline cell facility put into production; Construction begins for 2nd phase of Tongwei's 200,000-ton silicon Yunnan facility

TaiyangNews Solar & Sustainability Conference on 30 March: TaiyangNews is happy to announce its first Solar and Sustainability Conference on 30 March 2023 from 9.30 – 13.45 CET.  As the solar industry is growing rapidly and massive volumes of solar systems are being installed around the world, it's important that sustainability topics are not forgotten. While solar is sustainable in itself, it's still an industrial product, requires space, and has an end to its life. This Solar & Sustainability Conference will take a look into the topic from various angles – including material suppliers, manufacturers, developers, and certification bodies. Do join us. LONGi 29 GW cell facility put into production: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi announced that its 29 GW high-efficiency monocrystalline cell facility in Jinghe, Shaanxi Province has been put into production. Adopting the Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) high-efficiency cell technology that has been independently developed by LONGi, the first phase of this facility was put into production in September 2022. Meanwhile, LONGi had set a new record efficiency last year using its new HPBC cell technology (see New Record Efficiency Module With Back Contact Cell From LONGi)

Construction begins for Tongwei's Yunnan facility's 2nd phase: The second phase of Tongwei Solar (Yunnan) 200,000-ton high-purity crystalline silicon facility has begun construction, the integrated solar PV manufacturer from China said in an announcement. Once this phase is completed, the facility will be producing over 250,000 tons of high-purity crystalline silicon. This, the company, says will make the facility the world's largest monomer production base. With an investment of RMB 10 billion, this facility is also claimed to be the world's first 200,000-ton project in the field of high-purity crystalline silicon.
