China Huaneng signs 650 MW roof distributed PV agreement: Power sources developer China Huaneng Group (Jiangsu Branch) released an announcement that the company and Sheyang County have come together to develop rooftop distributed photovoltaic projects. Both parties plan to complete a capacity of approximately 650 MW during the 14th Five-Year Plan period in Sheyang. They will also be integrating the resources available in the County and promoting the construction of various clean, diversified and integrated energy service projects.

Daqo increases investment of 35,000 tons of polysilicon project: High purity polysilicon producer and seller Daqo New Energy said that it has reviewed and approved the proposal of using part of its over-raised funds to increase the investment amount of fund-raising projects. Now, the company will use approximately RMB 575.7 million ($90.2 million) of the over-raised funds to produce 35,000 tons of polysilicon projects per year. With this, the investment on this project increases from its earlier RMB 3.5 billion ($0.55 billion) to RMB 4 billion ($0.63 billion). In August this year, Daqo New Energy had reported an annual increase of more than 230% in its revenues for Q2/2021(see Daqo New Energy Reports 'Excellent' Quarter In Q2/2021)

GoodWe & Towngas partner for new energy projects: Solar inverter manufacturer GoodWe and public utility company Towngas have signed an agreement to carry out multi-dimensional cooperation in new energy related fields such as zero-carbon parks, integrated energy, photovoltaics, energy storage, and charging and swapping. Both parties will leverage their respective experience in technological innovation and energy applications, a news report said.

Yongxiang New Energy project produces 1st batch of silicon: Integrated solar PV manufacturer from China, Tongwei, said that the 51,000t/a high-purity crystalline silicon project of its subsidiary, Yongxiang New Energy, has successfully produced its first batch of high-purity crystalline silicon. The construction of Yongxiang New Energy Phase II commenced on November 30, 2020, and the whole process of design, construction, commissioning, mass production and output of qualified product took about a year. The company claims that the quality indicators of the product are superior to those of solar-grade special-class products. In August, Tongwei said that it has increased its H1/2021 operating income by over 41% and grew shipments by more than 92% solar cells and modules (see Tongwei's H1/2021 Cell Shipments Nearly Double)
