As Drinda turns focus on PV cell business, JinkoSolar's N-type TOPCon cells start production, Changyuan Power invests in 100 MW fishery-PV project, and Freewon holding subsidiary announced to invest in diamond wire busbar and PV wire mesh project.

Drinda to focus on PV cell business: Large-scale comprehensive enterprise specializing in the production of automotive instrument panel assemblies, Drinda, has issued a note on its plans regarding major asset sales and related transactions. The company will divest the assets of its auto trim business with low operating efficiency, and collect funds through the sale of assets to further concentrate resources to develop its photovoltaic cell business.

JinkoSolar's 8 GW N-type TOPCon cells put into production:  Module supplier JinkoSolar has announced that its high-efficiency N-type TOPCon cells have officially started production at Anhui factory, as per Photovoltaic Network News. Construction had begun in September and the entire line was completed on Jan. 4, 2022. Last year, JinkoSolar had announced two New Efficiency 'Records': 24.90% For Large-Area N-Type C-Si TOPCon Solar Cell Independently Confirmed By ISFH; and 23.01% Module Efficiency With N-Type Mono Panel Certified By TUV Rheinland (see JinkoSolar: 24.9% Efficiency Record For TOPCon Solar Cell) In December, JinkoSolar provided background on its Tiger Neo N-type TOPCon module at TaiyangNews High Efficiency Solar Conference (see JinkoSolar introduced Tiger Neo N-type TOPCon module).

Changyuan Power to invest in 100 MW fishery-PV project 1st phase: Electric and thermal power generator Changyuan Power announced  plans to invest in the construction of the first phase of the 100 MW fishery-photovoltaic power generation project in China's Huayan Farm. This is being done to optimize the company's power supply structure and increase the proportion of new energy power generation installed capacity. In November, Changyuan Power had announced its intention to set up a subsidiary in Shishou (see China PV News Snippets)

Freewon to build diamond wire factory: Precision metal parts manufacturer Freewon said in an announcement that its holding subsidiary Qiangxin Technology (Nantong) Co., Ltd. plans to invest RMB 500 million ($78.45 million) in Nantong to build a diamond wire factory with an annual output of 60 million kilometers. The project with a planned construction period of 24 months is expected to be completed, accepted and put into production by the end of 2023.
