Linyang wind-solar-storage project begins construction: At a kick-off meet, smart electricity meter company Linyang Energy announced that its 2 GW and 1.08 GWh wind-solar-storage project in Bengbu has begun construction. The company also said that it plans to invest in the construction of 1.5 GW photovoltaic projects, 0.5 GW wind power projects and energy storage projects in Tianjing Lake and surrounding areas of Wuhe.
Huawei to supply smart string inverters to R.Power: Chinese multinational technology company Huawei has been selected by Polish solar developer R.Power Group to supply 390 MWp of its world-leading smart string inverters for numerous utility-scale solar projects in Poland, a media report said. As per the contract, three types of Huawei's utility-scale PV inverters — SUN2000 215KTL-H0, SUN2000 185KTL-H1, and SUN2000 105KTL-H1 — will be utilized to maximize the performance of 390 MW portfolio of solar projects. China Shuifa inks distributed PV project deal: BIPV system developer and EPC, China Shuifa Singyes Energy Holdings Limited, and the Wuxuan County Government have got into a deal, wherein China Shuifa will invest in the construction of a 250 MW county-wide distributed photovoltaic project in the County. Last year, China Shuifa had signed an agreement for a 5 GW new energy base in Inner Mongolia (see China PV News Snippets: Shuifa, JA Solar, Longyuan)
Jinko Solar's Haining base produces first Tiger Neo's N-type cell: Module supplier Jinko Solar announced that its Haining Base Tiger Neo's first N-type cell has been successfully produced. Now the base will fully produce the next-generation high-efficiency Tiger Neo series modules, which comes with enhanced in performance, power, energy density and reliability. At the recent TaiyangNews webinar The Time is Ripe for TOPCon, Jinko's Leo Cong presented about the lastest n-type technology update from the company. During the webinar Cong said the company started research on TOPCon in 2015 and launched a pilot line in 2017 and will launch its TOPCon Tiger Neo modules for mass production in Q1/2022, with a 10 GW production capacity to be achieved by the end of 2022 (see TaiyangNews Special Focus Webinar on TOPCon).
