DR Laser to raise RMB 840 mn for new PV laser applications: Chinese laser integrator DR Laser announced plans to raise RMB 840 million ($129.97 million). The intention of raising this fund is to invest in high-efficiency solar cell laser printing technology application research and development. Some of the funds will also be diverted to new display industry laser technology application research and development. The estimated construction period of the project is about 3 years and is expected to be completed by 2023.
Caihong and Shangrao government to build RMB 10.6 bn worth PV glass production line: Caihong Group and Shangrao Municipal People's Government have partnered to build an ultra-thin and high-transmittance photovoltaic glass production line. The investment of this project is expected to be RMB 10.6 billion ($1.64 billion) and will be divided into three phases, Caihong confirmed. Once the project is completed, the annual solar glass production capacity is capable of touching 75 GW. This announcement comes at a time other glass manufacturers are expanding capacities to address the current solar glass supply shortage (see Deli Glass Expanding Solar Glass Capacity). And it is also inline with basically all major module manufacturers dramatically expanding capacities and signing long-term material supply contracts (see Long Term Raw Material Supply Deals For JA Solar).
Trina adds 4 GW order to 210 modules: Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar announced that its subsidiary Trina Solar (US), Inc. has signed a long-term sales contract with Nextera Energy Constructors, LLC for 4 GW of 210-size photovoltaic modules for a period of one year – from 2022 to 2023. The sales price will be determined as per the contract between the two parties. Last year, a joint consortium of solar PV companies had called for the manufacturing industry to standardize 210mm size silicon wafer and modules (see 8 Companies Push For Standardizing 210mm Wafer Size). Also, last year Trina had launched its new modules that use 40 cells with edge length of 210 mm, cut into 3 pieces (see Trina Solar's New Module For Rooftops).
Flat Glass Group 's 2020 net profit to rise by 109.20%~131.52%: Releasing its 2020 performance forecast, Flat Glass Group estimates its net profit to be in between RMB 1.5 billion ($0.23 billion) and RMB 1.66 billion ($0.26 billion) in 2020. This will mark an increase of about RMB 783 million ($121.5 million) to RMB 943 million ($ 145.91 million) as compared with the same period of the previous year, an increase of 109.20% to 131.52% year-on-year.
Chint Solar Aksai Phase III 35 MW PV station grid-connected: Chint Solar's Aksai Phase III-Jiangtai 35 MW photovoltaic power generation project has been connected to the grid for power generation. The company, has so far, built a total of three phases of photovoltaic power generation projects in Aksai, with a total installed capacity of 94 MW, and will achieve 84 MW of grid-connected power generation within 2020. Prior to this, the first phase of Aksai 10 MW project was connected to the grid in February 2013, while the second phase of 49 MW project was connected in August 2020. Chint Solar presented at the TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Reliable PV Module Design on how a Tier-1 module supplier manufactures high-quality products (see Astronergy Chint Presentation – AJ Hu).
