Huayang New Material kickstarts construction of 5 GW TOPCon production: Huayang New Material Technology Group has started construction of a 5 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic module production line in Weibo Industrial Park, Yangquan City, Shanxi Province. Spread across 289 acres, this project has a total investment of RMB 1.07 billion (0.17 billion), the company said in a report. The project will be completed and put into production in October this year. The annual output, once it reaches its full capacity, is expected to be about RMB 6.7 billion ($1.04 billion), and the total profit expected is RMB 330 million ($ 51.03 million).

DAS Solar signs contract with Yangchenghu for 4 GW module production line: DAS Solar has signed an industrial agreement with Yangcheng Lake Resort in Suzhou City to develop a 4 GW  solar module production line with an investment of RMB 2 billion ($0.31 billion), and an annual output value of RMB 5 billion ($0.77 billion) after reaching full capacity. The project is expected to start in June 2021 and will be completed by March 2023, post which the production will begin in September 2023.

IRICO PV glass production project construction begins: Solar PV glass producer IRICO Group New Energy announced that its Shangrao ultra-thin and high transmissivity photovoltaic glass project has been officially started in Jiangxi Province. This initiative will see the construction of 10 photovoltaic glass furnaces and its supporting deep-processing production lines in three phases in the Economic Development Zone of Shangrao. Three production lines will be constructed in the first phase, which will commence in the first half of 2022. Last month, Shangrao Municipal People's Government had partnered with Caihong Group to build an ultra-thin and high-transmittance photovoltaic glass production line (see China News Snippets: DR Laser, Caihong, Trina, Chint)
