1 GW solar and wind project in Shaanxi province: The People's Government of Wubao County has entered into a cooperation framework agreement with wind power producer China Longyuan Power Group to develop a 1 GW solar and wind power agrivoltaic project in Shaanxi province. It will have 700 MW of solar PV and 300 MW of wind power capacity and will be developed for an investment of RMB 6 billion. The 700 MW solar part of the project will be combined with ecological agriculture and agricultural greenhouses. PV capacity will also be distributed for rooftops in the county. Energy storage is also part of the agreement for this demonstration project.
CATL interested in investing in Lead: Solar PV production equipment company Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. plans to raise over RMB 2.5 billion by offering its shares at RMB 36.05 per share. It plans to use the proceeds for 5 projects it is planning in South China Headquarters Manufacturing Base for high end smart equipment production. Interested in buying all the shares on offer is lithium-ion battery producer Contemporary Amerex Technology Co., Limited (CATL). On buying all these shares, CATL's stake will reach 7.29% of the company's total shareholding and assume the role of a strategic investor in Lead, reported Polaris Solar Photovoltaic Network. The 2 have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement.
Trina Solar modules clear reliability tests: Trina Solar says its 600W/550W Vertex modules have cleared a complete set of reliability tests by testing company TUV Rheinland. This is another major breakthrough and milestone after Trina Solar said it was granted both the IEC 61215 PV module performance standard and the IEC 61730 PV module safety standard certificates in March 2020. It calls this as a major breakthrough and milestone for its Vertex solar modules that use multi-busbar grid technology and were launched in July 2020 touting over 600 W output (see Trina Solar Launches 600W Vertex Module). Previously in April 2020, TUV Rheinland independently confirmed 515.8 W power rating for these modules (see Trina's Vertex Module With 515.8 W Verified).
