Shangji Automation and Tongwei sign silicon wafer order: In an announcement, Shangji Automation said that the company's wholly-owned subsidiary Hongyuan New Materials (Baotou) Co., Ltd. and solar cell and polysilicon manufacturer Tongwei Solar (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. have signed a long-term sales contract for the sale of monocrystalline silicon wafers. The subsidiary intends to sell 272 million monocrystalline silicon wafers to Tongwei in 2021. With reference to solar market intelligence firm PV InfoLink's latest price and production scheduling estimates, the sales amount in 2021 will be RMB 1.306 billion ($0.2 billion). Arctech Solar and COSCO Goldwind sign BIPV strategic agreement: Arctech Solar (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of mounting and tracker supplier Arctech Solar, and COSCO Goldwind signed a Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) strategic cooperation agreement, Arctech Solar stated in an announcement. The signing ceremony saw both the companies have in-depth exchanges on how to further strengthen cooperation in the BIPV field, and jointly explore innovations in BIPV project application scenarios and business models. Arctech also offers BIPV solutions in its product portfolio.

Shanghai HIUV New Materials 2020 performance forecast released: As per the 2020 annual forecast disclosed by Shanghai HIUV New Materials, the solar module encapsulation supplier expects to achieve operating income of approximately RMB 1.45 billion to RMB 1.5 billion ($0.22 billion to $0.23 billion) in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 36.38% to 41.08%. The company attributes this performance to the initiatives taken where it expanded its production capacity and actively sought orders, thus bringing about an increase in the sale of its products. Construction begins for Guangdong Gaojing's 50 GW 210 production line: Guangdong Gaojing Solar Technology Co., Ltd. has officially started construction of its 50 GW large-size monocrystalline silicon wafer production line. The total investment of the project is RMB 7.2 billion ($1.12 billion), of which the investment in the first phase of the project is RMB 2.7 billion ($0.42 billion).

Sinopec & PGT partner for photovoltaic and wind power development: In an announcement, American listed company Pacific Green Technologies stated that its wholly-owned subsidiary in Shanghai and Sinopec's subsidiary Sinopec star Co., Ltd. have signed an agreement valid till December 1, 2022. As per the agreement the two will carry out a series of projects in the fields of onshore and offshore wind power, PV power generation and integrated energy utilization.
