Skyworth revenue at RMB 22.5 bn in H1 2021: Multimedia business company Skyworth Group announced that it has achieved a revenue of RMB 22.5 billion ($3.48 billion) in the first half of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 41.2%. Releasing its 2021 semi-annual report, it said that its gross profit was at RMB 3.7 billion ($0.57 billion), with a gross profit margin of 16.6%. Its PV power business, which is fairly new, generated a revenue of RMB 829 million ($128.3 million). The Group is starting with residential solar power and gradually plans to develop its business into industrial and commercial PV as well as integrated smart energy management on the consumption side.
Wujiang signs 1 GW PV project in Luodian: Luodian County and China Huadian Group controlled Guizhou Wujiang Hydropower Development have partnered for a 1 GW ground mounted solar power generation base project. The investment is about RMB 5 billion ($0.77 billion) and about 12 solar projects are planned to be constructed. Once the project is completed, the annual power generation capacity will be about 1.5 billion kWh, which can reduce coal consumption by about 500,000 tons per year, and the corresponding carbon emission by more than 1.1 million tons.
Jinjing begins PV light-weight glass panel project: Chinese glass developer and producer Jinjing Group made an announcement that its 80%-owned holding subsidiary, Ningxia Jinjing Technology has begun a 600 t/d three-line solar light-weight glass project at its factory. With an investment of RMB 384.8 million ($59.57 million), the project will produce about 28.4 million m2 (based on 2.5mm) annually.
JinkoSolar & CATL partner for solar storage: Module supplier JinkoSolar has joined hands with lithium-ion battery development and manufacturer – Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) for global solar-plus-storage business development, the joint promotion of carbon neutrality of the industrial chain, and the joint innovation and development of solar-plus-storage integrated solutions.
LONGi and Hualu sign green hydrogen contract: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi has partnered and signed a procurement agreement with engineering company Hualu Engineering & Technology for 100 MW electrolyzer hydrogen production equipment. Both companies will establish a strategic partnership around green hydrogen energy technology.
