Sofar Solar opens new manufacturing base for inverter & energy storage lines: Solar PV inverter manufacturer Sofar Solar held the ground-breaking ceremony for its new R&D and manufacturing project for energy products in Huizhou. Covering an area of 50 mu (360,000 sqft), the project comprises 15 inverter production lines, 10 energy storage production lines and a logistics center. With a total investment of RMB 400 million ($61.79 billion), the R&D facility will host Sofar Solar's global data center as well as a product testing facility. After completion and when fully operational, the annual sales volume is expected to be at RMB 5 billion ($0.77 billion); sales revenue is predicted to exceed RMB 10 billion yuan ($1.54 billion) in 2026. Last year, Sofar Solar had entered into a strategic cooperation with solar products distributor Failte Solar of Ireland to explore opportunities in the Irish solar market (see China PV News Snippets: Hangzhou, Canadian Solar, Sofar Solar)
S.C New Energy releases 2020 annual report: Releasing its 2020 annual performance report, Solar PV production equipment manufacturer S.C New Energy said that its operating income in 2020 stood at approximately RMB 4.04 billion ($0.62 billion), a year-on-year increase of 60.03%.
