Gaojing Solar pulls out of IPO: PV equipment and module provider Gaojing Solar has announced that it has terminated its A share IPO on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. Previously, on June 1, 2023, the company had applied for the listing of its A shares on the GEM. Through this IPO, Gaojing Solar aimed to raise RMB 5 billion ($685.9 million) to fund the construction of a 25 GW monocrystalline silicon ingot and 5 GW monocrystalline silicon wafer production facility, an R&D center and use the remaining as supplementary working capital. The company, however, withdrew its application on September 27, 2023. The reasons for this withdrawal are not known.

Huida DAS Solar's 5.5 GW high-efficiency module fab starts operations: Huida DAS Solar recently announced the commissioning of its high-efficiency module production facility with an annual output of 5.5 GW in Dalat Banner. The Huida DAS Solar facility is jointly funded and constructed by DAS Solar and Huida Energy, and will involve a high-efficiency n-type TOPCon photovoltaic module production line and supporting facilities. Built with a total investment of RMB 1 billion ($137.2 million), the facility is expected to generate about RMB 8 billion ($1.1 billion) in annual revenues once operational. DAS Solar recently commissioned the 1st phase of its 4 GW high-efficiency PV module manufacturing base in Beihai (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Risen Energy forecasts 9M 2023 net profit to increase by 60.56%-84.65%: Solar panel manufacturer Risen Energy has forecasted its net profit for the first 3 quarters of 2023 to increase 60.56% to 84.65% year-on-year. The company expects net profit for the period to total RMB 1.200 billion ($164.6 million) to RMB 1.380 billion ($189.3 million). Risen Energy said that this forecast is based on factors such as the expansion of its module production capacity, the increase in the scale of cells procured in-house, and the stabilization of prices in the upstream PV supply chain. The company said that its module sales increased in the period compared to last year, with an increase in gross profit margin. The company also stated that the shipments from its overseas cell module production bases had a positive impact on its operating performance during the period. In September 2023, Risen Energy announced that it will be supplying 200 MW of heterojunction Hyper-ion modules to projects in Spain (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

JinkoSolar starts construction on integrated n-type manufacturing base in Shanxi: Leading PV manufacturer JinkoSolar recently announced that it has broken ground on its 56 GW vertically integrated base in the Shanxi Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone. Taking approximately RMB 56 billion ($7.68 billion) in investment, the facility is expected to produce 56 GW each of monocrystalline ingots, wafers, high-efficiency cells and modules annually. To be implemented in 4 phases, each phase will consist of 14 GW capacity each for ingots, wafers, cells and modules. The first, second and third phase are expected to be operational in Q1, Q2 and Q3 of 2024 respectively, and Phase IV is expected to become operational in 2025. The base is expected to employ 30,000 people once at full capacity.

JA Solar to deploy 50 MW rooftop distributed PV at its Baotou base: Vertically integrated PV manufacturer JA Solar recently announced that it has started construction for the 18 MW Phase I project of the 50 MW rooftop distributed PV plant at its Baotou base. Located in Qingshan District, Baotou City, the power plant will use JA Solar's n-type products and will be constructed in 4 phases with a total investment of RMB 150 million ($20.58 million). At its completion by the end of 2023, the plant is expected to produce 65 million kWh of power annually, saving 20,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 54,000 tons each year.
