TaiyangNews team at SNEC: The TaiyangNews team will be at the 16th International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition (SNEC) taking place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center this week. In case there are interesting solar news to be covered, or you simply want to reach out to the team, write to Santhoshi Thakur (santhoshithakur@taiyangnews.info). Also watch out for TaiyangNews exclusive interviews of esteemed industry leaders conducted in collaboration with SNEC.

Hoyuan Green Energy raises order quantity: Leading global supplier of polysilicon GCL Technology announced that it has signed an agreement with its subsidiary Hoyuan Green Energy. This is in anticipation that Hoyuan will see a rise in the demand of polysilicon materials and granular silicon. As per the agreement, for the year ending December 31, 2023, Hoyuan's minimum order quantity for polysilicon materials and granular silicon will rise from the original 16,000 tons to 55,300 tons. To add to this, there will be a rise in the annual cap for related party transactions this year – from RMB 3.5 billion ($0.5 billion) to RMB 9.4 billion ($1.3 billion). On another note, last month, GCL had given US a pass as it sees solar manufacturing in the US as an expensive affair despite the IRA incentives (see GCL Looking For Silicon Expansion Outside China)

HDHM and S.C New Energy seal RMB 561 million deal: In an announcement, port handling equipment company HDHM said that it has partnered with solar PV production equipment manufacturer S.C New Energy Technology and its two subsidiaries. With this, HDHM will be buying production equipment related to high-efficiency photovoltaic cells from S.C. New Energy to the tune of RMB 561 million ($79.5 million). The equipment will be used towards the construction of HDHM's 10 GW high-efficiency photovoltaic cell facility in Pei County, Xuzhou. Earlier this year, HDHM had announced its plans to invest in a 10 GW high-efficiency solar cell facility in Jiangsu Peixian Economic Development Zone (see China PV News Snippets)

Horad and Huasun partner for HJT: Chinese high-tech enterprise Horad said via WeChat that it will be delivering 30 GW heterojunction whole-line smart factory solutions to multiple global bases of Chinese solar panel manufacturer, Huasun. This, the company claimed, will make them a company who has bagged the largest delivery order for the world's first heterojunction packaging production line. Last year too, Horad had won Huasun's HJT bid for 2.5 GW solar module facility (see China PV News Snippets). Meanwhile, Huasun will be participating in TaiyangNews Global PV System Technology Trends H1/2023 Virtual Conference, scheduled to take place from 27-28 June 2023. Jiangsu Safety Wire Rope to acquire Anhui Meidalun: As per local media reports, wire producer and seller Jiangsu Safety Wire Rope shared its plans to acquire 100% equity in Anhui Meidalun through its subsidiary. Anhui Meidalun, which manufactures and sells solar cells and modules, has a 10 GW TOPCon solar cell facility under construction in Mingguang. And Jiangsu investment comes with the purpose of slowly transforming itself into a photovoltaic cell industry in 2023.

Jinenu Solar to build sixth facility in Yuexi: Customized producer of photovoltaic modules Jinenu Solar said via WeChat that it will be building a 3 GW photovoltaic modules facility in Yuexi County, and this will be its sixth manufacturing facility here. Equipped with artificial intelligence applications and advanced production equipment for automation, the facility will be built in 10 months. Once completed, the facility is expected to generate a sales income of over RMB 3 billion ($0.43 billion). Few days back, Jinenu had announced the construction of its fifth base (see China PV News Snippets). In 2023, the company had planned to build six new facilities in areas that included Anhui Qianshan, Ma'anshan and Yuexi. Another three facilities are in the pipeline and all the nine facilities together will be put into operation by the first half of 2024. The production capacity then is expected to touch 30 GW.

Datang announces 8 GW module tender results: Independent power generation company in China Datang Power Generation has announced the results for its 8 GW module tender bid. The 8 GW bid was divided into two – one for 4 GW p-type monocrystalline PERC and the other for 4 GW n-type photovoltaic modules. As per the local media, about 32 companies participated and the lowest bidding price for p-type module was RMB 1.47/W ($0.21/W), and RMB 1.54/W ($0.22/W) for n-type module.

EGing TOPCon cell equipment enters site: Solar photovoltaic product manufacturing company EGing said via WeChat that the main equipment for the first phase production of its 10 GW high-efficiency n-type TOPCon PV cell facility in Chuzhou has entered the site. The first phase is expected to be put into operation by June this year. While the second and third phases where 10 GW wafer facility and 10 GW photovoltaic module facility will be built respectively, are advancing as per plans, the company added.
