TW Solar at TaiyangNews annual flagship event Day 3: TW Solar's Director of Module R&D Department Jason Xia will participate in Part-2 of TaiyangNews annual flagship event – a #VirtualConference on High Efficiency Solar Technologies – Today, Tomorrow and Beyond, scheduled for December 19/20 from 09:30 – 13:00 CET.

On Day 3 of the event, he will share insights on the topic: Downstream Technology Development at World's Leading Silicon Producer.

Astronergy shortlisted for CTGR's 2.1 GW n-type module procurement: Astronergy has been shortlisted by China Three Gorges Renewables (CTGR) to supply PV modules for a 2.1 GW PV project. Astronergy ranked 1st in CTGR's 2023 centralized procurement of PV modules. According to the announcement, the company is required to supply n-type bifacial 575 W+ modules to the 2141.1549 MW project, with all supplies to be completed before May 30, 2024. As the 1st winning bidder, Astronergy is expected to capture 40% of the total scale of the centralized procurement.

Daqo New Energy plans to construct new silicon fab: Polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy has announced that it has signed an investment agreement with the Shihezi Municipal Government, the Shihezi Economic Development Zone Management Committee and Tianfu Energy. As per the agreement, the company will invest in and build a silicon fab in Shihezi City, Xinjiang. As part of Phase I, the company plans to invest RMB 7.5 billion to build a facility that will produce 50,000 tons of polysilicon per year, supporting 150,000 tons of industrial silicon and 1.2 million round silicon cores. Involving another RMB 7.5 billion of investment, Phase II will have an annual output of 50,000 tons of polysilicon, supporting 150,000 tons of industrial silicon and 1 million round silicon cores.

Leascend starts construction on 12 GW HJT solar cell factory: Solar cell manufacturer Leascend has announced that it has broken ground on a new 12 GW heterojunction (HJT) solar cell facility. The fab is being constructed with an investment of RMB 7 billion ($981.8 million) in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province. The facility will be built in 3 phases. Phase I is expected to be completed and operational by August 2024, while all 3 phases are expected to be completed and operational by 2025.

PowerChina invites bids for 42 GW PV modules & inverters: Power Construction Corporation of China, or PowerChina, has released the tender notice for 42 GW of PV modules and 42 GW of solar PV inverters for the year 2024. The PV module tender requires mono silicon modules made from solar cells with a size of 182 mm or above, with a specification of 12 GW for p-type modules and 30 GW for n-type modules. The inverter tender plans to procure 10 GW of box-type inverters and 32 GW of string inverters. The last date for tender submissions is January 9, 2024.

GCL Optoelectronics' perovskite stacked module hits 26.34% efficiency: Perovskite solar module manufacturer GCL Optoelectronics has announced that its perovskite laminated module has achieved an efficiency of 26.34% @2048cm² (36.9 cm x 55.5 cm). The company says that this has been certified by the China Institute of Metrology.

Recently, Wuxi UtmoLight announced that its 810.1 cm² large-size perovskite module achieved a steady-state efficiency of 19.5% (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
