Huasun seals 1.2 GW HJT cell supply deal; Hiking PV invests in 7 GW tandem cell facility; Sunowe drops TOPCon plans; Central New Energy achieves 26.31% TOPCon efficiency; Autowell projects up to 77.59% revenue growth; Shuangliang Eco-Energy wins 100 MW module tender.
Huasun secures 1.2 GW G12R HJT cell supply contract: Heterojunction (HJT) solar manufacturer Huasun Energy has announced that it has signed a HJT cell supply cooperation agreement with a global clean energy solution provider. According to the agreement, Huasun will supply 1.2 GW of its Everest series G12R rectangular HJT cells during the contract period. The company says that this deal is the industry's 1st gigawatt-level rectangular HJT cell order.
Apart from the supply deal, the 2 companies will also cooperate in HJT product technology research and development, etc.
Hiking PV to set up 7 GW silicon + perovskite tandem cell R&D and manufacturing base: Hiking PV has signed an agreement to construct a 7 GW silicon/perovskite tandem solar cell manufacturing project. The project, located in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, plans to establish a research and development and manufacturing integrated base for 7GW new-generation silicon/perovskite tandem cell and high-end solar module production. The project will be implemented in three phases with a total investment of RMB 5 billion ($695.2 million).
Sunowe terminates TOPCon cell manufacturing plans: Sunowe has announced that it has abandoned its plans to build a TOPCon cell manufacturing plant. The company cites delays in the delivery of the planned leased factory, the sharp decline in PV product prices, and the current market environment as the major factors behind this decision. It said that the decision comes after friendly negotiations with all shareholders keeping investment risks, management costs and resource allocation in view.
Sunowe joins Shanxi Coal and JYT Corp, and a list of other companies, that have abandoned their manufacturing plans in recent months (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Central New Energy's TOPCon cell achieves 26.31% efficiency: BIPV company Central New Energy has announced that its 182 mm n-type TOPCon solar cells have achieved a conversion efficiency of 26.31%. The module is developed and manufactured by its subsidiary, Central Low Carbon (Anhui) New Energy. The company says that this achievement has been certified by the National PV Industry Measurement Testing Center (NPVM). The 26.31% conversion efficiency was achieved with an open-circuit voltage of 739.6 mV, breaking its October 2023 efficiency record of 26.06%.
Autowell forecasts 2023 revenues to grow up to 77.59%: Automation equipment manufacturer Wuxi Autowell has forecasted its FY2023 revenues to grow 59.83% to 77.59% to RMB 5.66 ($786.56 million) to RMB 6.29 billion ($873.95 million). It expects net profit attributable to the parent company to be RMB 1.15 billion ($160.63 million) to RMB 1.28 billion ($178.47 million), a growth of 62.05% to 80.05% YoY.
Last month, Autowell announced a RMB 210 million ($29.41 million) contract with Trina Solar (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
Shuangliang Eco-Energy wins 100 MW solar PV module tender: Solar manufacturing equipment maker Shuangliang Eco-Energy has announced that it was won the bid to supply solar modules for a 100 MW agricultural light complementary power generation project in Meijiang District in Guangdong Province. The bid includes dual-glass n-type monocrystalline modules and related services, with a total bid amount of RMB 120.96 million ($16.81 million).
Earlier this year, Shuangliang announced that the company and its wholly-owned subsidiary have won the bid for equipment orders required for the annual production of 100,000 tons of high-purity silicon-based materials project by United Solar Polysilicon (FZC) SPC.
