Shanghai Electric Power Generation to build HJT facility in Haimen: Over a WeChat communication, Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., one of the major listed companies owned by State Power Investment Corporation Limited, said that it has established a company – Shanghai Electric Group Hengxi Photovoltaic Technology (Nantong) Co., Ltd. Charting new growth in the photovoltaic industry, Shanghai Electric Group will create an industrial park. The first phase will see the production of 4.8 GW heterojunction cells, out of which, 1.2 GW will be located in Haimen. Last year, Zhongli Group and Shanghai Electric Power Co., Ltd., had partnered to focus on investing in the photovoltaic power generation industry and energy technology innovation (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Geely Joinet Energy's 100,000 tons polysilicon enters construction stage: Energy-saving technology research services Geely Joinet Energy published via WeChat that the first phase of its 100,000 tons polysilicon facility held its groundbreaking ceremony and has now entered the construction stage. This facility uses a physical purification method of polysilicon, which the company claims to be the first technology in the world to realize large-scale industrialization. This technology is low on energy consumption, where the unit energy consumption is only about 40% when compared to traditional methods. It is high on safety, low in carbon footprint, and protects the environment. With this technology, the company has taken an important step in the field of high-purity silicon, it added.

RoboTechnik to supply PV equipment to Trina Solar: High-end automation equipment manufacturer RoboTechnik announced that it has signed an automation equipment deal with Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar.
