Huawei Digital and ACWA Power to conduct PV innovation and technical research; Horad and SEG SOLAR strike partnership deal; Auner perovskite cell efficiency touches 31.46%; Mass production in 2025 planned for Boamax Technologies perovskite/silicon stacked cells.

Huawei Digital joins hands with ACWA Power: Leading global provider of digital power products and solutions Huawei Digital Power Technologies announced via WeChat that at Intersolar Europe 2023, the company and ACWA Power signed a joint MOU. As part of the agreement, both will conduct joint innovation and technical research in the field of photovoltaics, and focus on maximizing ACWA's large-scale photovoltaic power plants' commercial value in the international market. The focus will also be to help Saudi Arabia achieve its 2030 vision and national energy transformation goals.

China's Horad and SEG SOLAR partner for module manufacturing line: Chinese high-tech enterprise Horad announced via WeChat that the company and American photovoltaic module manufacturer SEG SOLAR have come together in Munich, Germany to sign an agreement. As per the agreement, both the companies will partner to build a 2 GW TOPCon advanced module manufacturing line at SEG's Texas base in the United States. Earlier this year, Horad had partnered with  Canadian Solar for a 3.5 GW module manufacturing line; and last month Horad and Huasun had partnered for HJT (see China Solar PV News Snippets)

Auner perovskite tandem cell efficiency touches 31.46%: Over a WeChat communication, new energy materials company Auner said that the conversion efficiency of its 25cm² large-area perovskite/crystalline silicon 2-electrode stack cell has touched 31.46%. And this has been certified by the China Institute of Metrology. Auner had achieved the highest certified efficiency record of 32.44% for 1cm² small-area devices earlier this year. Post which, the company began focusing on large-area cells and started the process development of M6-G12 industrial-grade laminated cells and was able to increase the efficiency of the 25cm2 large-area cell from initial 29.57% to 31.46% in a span of 100 days.  Last month, it has announced an efficiency of 30.83% (see China Solar PV News Snippets)

Boamax Technologies perovskite/HJT stacked cells to be mass produced in 2025: CNC sheet metal technology company Suzhou Boamax Technologies announced that it expects to start the design and construction of a 100 MW perovskite laminated line within this year. It also expects to achieve a laboratory efficiency of over 32%. The company is striving to upgrade its perovskite/heterojunction stack GW-level production line in 2025, and achieve mass production of 210 half-cell perovskite/heterojunction stack cells. The company had initially begun research on perovskite cells in 2014, and had later gone to focus on perovskite stacked cells in 2019.
