Lifecome Biochemistry to raise RMB 1.3 billion for PV films: Biopharmaceutical company Lifecome Biochemistry announced its plans to issue shares to the order of RMB 1.3 billion ($0.18 billion). The raised funds will be used towards:

  • The photovoltaic film facility of Lifecome Biochemistry (Haining) Film Materials Co., Ltd. that will be producing 320 million square meters of film annually
  • The photovoltaic film facility of Jiangxi Weike New Material Technology Co., Ltd. that will be producing 120 million square meters of film annually
  • The R&D center and the working capital of Lifecome Biochemistry (Haining) Film Materials Co., Ltd.

Zirconium to build cell and module facilities in Zhongxiang: Solar energy technology company Zirconium Technology said over a WeChat communication that it will be building an industrial park in Zhongxiang. The park will have a 5 GW solar module facility, a 5 GW solar cell facility, and photovoltaic power stations. The annual output value, on completion of this park, is expected to be RMB 13 billion ($1.8 billion). Earlier this year, Zirconium had announced plans to invest RMB 5 billion in PV cell and module facilities in Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Midea subscribes to Hiconics shares: High-tech enterprise specializing in production and sales of MV and LV high-power Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Hiconics, said that it plans to issue shares to robotic and automation technology company Midea Group. The company will be issuing about 332 million shares to Midea Group at the rate of RMB 4.43/share ($0.61/share), thus raising over RMB 1.4 billion ($0.19 billion). Once the issuance is completed, Midea's holding in the company will be at 37.56%, and it will become the controlling shareholder.  The raised funds will be used towards electrical equipment business and photovoltaic facilities.

Xinjiang Shangyao facility put into operation: Photovoltaic equipment manufacturer and seller Xinjiang Shangyao New Energy said that its 2 GW cell and module facility in Urumqi has been put into operation. Adopting advanced technologies, this facility is capable of an annual output value of RMB 3 billion ($0.41 billion) on completion.
