JinkoSolar delivers SunGiga C&I ESS to Zhaoguang New Energy; TCL Zhonghuan's updated price list; Xinhao New Energy to purchase monocrystalline silicon wafers from Yuze Semiconductor; DAS Solar's n-type TOPCon 3.0 cell qualifies in Zhejiang; CPIA's August 2023 PV industry snapshot.

JinkoSolar supplies SunGiga C&I ESS to Zhaoguang New Energy in Shandong: Vertically integrated solar PV manufacturer JinkoSolar has announced that it has delivered a set of SunGiga liquid-cooling C&I ESS (JKS-215KLAA-100PLAA) to Zhaoguang New Energy. With the help of this ESS system, Zhaoguang New Energy will be able to better manage its overall electricity expenses by charging the batteries during low-cost valley hours and discharging them during high-cost peak hours. JinkoSolar claims that SunGiga C&I ESS features double the safety features of a conventional ESS solution. SunGiga offers a variety of battery capacity options, ranging from 250 kWh to 2 MWh, and are designed for applications that require energy storage for 2 to 4 hours. Recently, JinkoSolar opined that n-type TOPCon products are the best choice for most customers because they offer the highest return on investment (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

TCL Zhonghuan's latest price list for monocrystalline silicon wafers: TCL Zhonghuan has released the latest price list for its monocrystalline silicon wafers – and all formats have seen price increases compared to their August listing (see China Solar PV News Snippets):

  • P-type 150μm silicon wafers:
    • 182 is priced at RMB 3.10 ($0.383) /pc, a decrease of 7.46% from the previous listing on August 21;
    • 210 is priced at RMB 4.08 ($0.504) /pc, down 6.21%;
    • 218.2 is priced at RMB 4.41 ($0.544) /pc, down 6.17%.
  • N-type 130μm silicon wafers:
    • 182 is priced at RMB 3.20 ($0.395) /pc, down 7.78% from August 21;
    • 210 is priced at RMB 4.20 ($0.518) /pc, down 6.04%.
  • N-type 110μm silicon wafers:
    • 182 is priced at RMB 3.08 ($0.380) /pc, down 7.78% from August 21;
    • 210 is priced at RMB 4.03 ($0.498) /pc, down 6.06%.

MedicalSystem subsidiary to buy monocrystalline silicon wafers from Yuze Semiconductor: MedicalSystem Company has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Xinhao New Energy has signed an agreement to purchase monocrystalline silicon wafers from Yuze Semiconductor. The company says that this agreement will help it sustain the development of its photovoltaic (PV) business and ensure that its daily production and operation needs are met. As part of the agreement, Yuze will supply about 612.5 million wafers monocrystalline silicon wafers to Xinhao New Energy from the date of signing to July 31, 2025. The deal value is estimated to be worth about RMB 2.125 billion ($290.75 million) based on the latest average price announced by InfoLink Consulting.

DAS Solar's proprietary n-type TOPCon 3.0 cell qualifies in Zhejiang Province: PV cell and module supplier DAS Solar has announced that its proprietary n-type TOPCon 3.0 high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cell has passed the acceptance of the first product engineering research project in Zhejiang Province. The company says that it has successfully broken through the bottleneck of low utilization of short-wavelength spectrum on the front surface and long-wavelength spectrum on the back surface of n-type TOPCon cells. In August, DAS Solar's PV Lab was awarded TMP witness certification by TÜV SÜD (see China Solar PV News Snippets).
