While PV technology offers a quick and scalable path to clean energy deployment, the responsibility extends beyond just generating green power, like sourcing raw materials, manufacturing, and deployment. With energy-intensive processes, a multi-tier supply chain, varied working conditions, multiple stakeholders, and, most importantly, the dynamic regulatory updates, meeting ESG and sustainability standards can be a complex task.

At the TaiyangNews Solar & Sustainability 2025 Conference, Rachel Owens, CEO of the Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI), will discuss How to Ensure Transparency and Traceability Across the Global PV Supply Chain.

The Virtual Conference is scheduled for October 9, 2025, from 09:30 to 13:00 CEST. Registrations are free and can be done here.

DAH Solar has announced that it is opening patent cooperation for its full-screen anti-dust solar PV module and SolarUnit integrated system.

DAH Solar opens patent cooperation for full-screen modules & SolarUnit

Full-screen module specialist DAH Solar has announced that it is opening patent cooperation for its full-screen anti-dust solar PV module and SolarUnit integrated system. SolarUnit integrates solar modules with an inverter, and features a modular design for easy installation across balconies, courtyards, and villas, with inverter integration, plug-and-play connection, and peak efficiency up to 97.6%. Paired with full-screen anti-dust modules, the solution reduces cleaning and O&M challenges.

Late last month, DAH Solar announced that it officially produced the first module from its new 3 GW solar module manufacturing base in Nanling County, Wuhu City, Anhui Province (see China Solar PV News Snippets).

Shaanxi releases draft rules for distributed PV

The Shaanxi provincial Development and Reform Commission has issued draft management measures for distributed PV development. For general industrial and commercial distributed PV adopting self-consumption with grid-feed surplus, at least 30% of annual generation must be consumed onsite, with excess electricity settled at the year’s spot market average. Different types of projects will follow different rules: agrivoltaics and projects on idle land, ponds, or barren hills will count toward provincial PV capacity quotas and be managed as centralized PV stations; highway PV projects will be categorized by capacity into general commercial or large-scale projects, with corresponding grid feed policies.
