Chinese Hubei province, now known predominantly as the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic, is seeking new solar and wind power capacity for a total of 4 GW to begin construction in 2020. As per EnergyTrend referring to an external source of information, the province has issued a notice to this effect.
Of the 4 GW capacity is 500 MW foreseen for wind power and 3.5 GW for solar power projects – and all must be grid parity projects. Systems should be completed within 2 years. The projects will be configured in a competitive manner, and the competitive allocation plan of the bidding project will be announced separately.
Interested developers can submit their project proposals latest by April 28, 2020 identifying project site, installed capacity and the land area needed to match the capacity proposed.
