By March 1, 2020, installed solar power capacity in Poland went up to 1,596.5 MW or in round figures 1.6 GW, as per the country's grid operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE). While announcing the milestone on its Twitter handle, PSE said this is an increase of 183.2% on annual basis and by '8.4% in the period I 2020-III 2020'.
The last time PSE updated solar PV capacity figures was in the beginning of the year when it said till January 1, 2020 Polish solar power capacity installations added up to 1.3 GW. Hence between January and February 2020, around 300 MW of new capacity has been added to the grid in Poland.
Market intelligence firm GlobalData believes supportive regulatory structure is likely to push up the Polish solar market to a cumulative of 3.15 GW PV capacity by 2022 (see 3.15 GW Solar PV For Poland By 2022, Says Research).
