The 3rd and the final day of the Renewable Energy India Expo (REI) 2023 had manufacturers making the last ditch attempt to pitch their new and improved products with companies like China's Trina Solar and Sungrow, and India's Borosil Renewables launching their latest solutions.
BIS certificate for Trina: Tier I Chinese solar company Trina Solar has secured the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its n-type solar modules. The certified modules, namely Vertex N NEG21C.20 and Vertex N NEG19RC.20, were on display at the REI. Of the 2 products, Vertex N NEG21C.20 offers 700 W+ power output and up to 22.5% efficiency and uses 210 mm x 210 mm size. The Vertex N NEG19RC.20 using 210 mm x 182 mm size delivers up to 610 W output and up to 22.6% efficiency. Trina Solar's India Director Gaurav Mathur called India the company's 2nd largest Asia Pacific market after China, where it plans to position these modules for utility as well as commercial and industrial (C&I) segments. Since 2010 when the company started shipping to India, it now surpassed 9 GW of cumulative shipments to India.
Borosil's new products: Indian solar glass manufacturer Borosil Renewables unveiled several new products at the REI, including its High Transmission Antireflective Coated (HTAR) solar glass. Compared to solar glass coated using the existing AR coating technology, its HTAR coated glass enhances light transmission by about 0.4% to 0.5%. The other products launched were:
Sungrow's new inverter: Leading solar inverter and energy storage supplier Sungrow of China used the REI platform to release its new residential single phase PV inverter SG5.0RS-L. Claiming an 'ultra-light weight design', the company says it can be easily lifted with a single hand and installed by a single person. It is made with 100% recycled high polymer resin material and is equipped with PowerMax global MPPT scanning and PID Zero functions. Its 'snap-fit' design makes installation simpler. Sungrow says this product is compatible with high-power modules.
