  • PVHardware will supply 387 MW worth of bifacial solar trackers for a solar project in Saudi Arabia being constructed by L&T
  • Germany's Greencells says it is in advanced negotiations and permitting stages to grow its Greek solar portfolio to a total of 600 MW in H1/2022
  • TotalEnergies and Amarenco win 58 MW rooftop solar capacity in France's round 13 of CRE 4 tender

Larsen & Toubro picks PVHardware to supply trackers for Saudi Arabian project, Greencells eyes a total Greek solar portfolio of 600 MW by H1/2022, and TotalEnergies and Amarenco JV wins 58 MW solar PV capacity in the latest French rooftop solar auction.

Spanish PVH trackers for 387 MW PV in Saudi Arabia: India headquartered engineering company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has contracted Spanish solar tracker maker PVHardware (PVH) to supply 387 MW of its monoline 2V bifacial solar trackers. L&T will deploy the trackers for the South Jeddah Noor Solar PV Project coming up in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for completion in 2023. The monoline trackers incorporate Adaptive Backtracking 3D algorithm that, the company claims, is the best solution to increase energy production in the area and guarantee the durability of the project. Developed by the Saudi Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO), the project carries a local content requirement specification which is not a problem for PVH since it has a local manufacturing unit in the country that was opened in May 2021. The South Jeddah Noor Solar PV Project is being built by the consortium of Masdar, EDF Renewables and Nesma under contract to sell power generated to the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) for $0.01624 per kWh (see Financial Closure For 300 MW Project In Saudi Arabia).

Greencells to expand Greek portfolio to 600 MW: German utility scale solar developer and EPC company Greencells Group expects to grow its total development portfolio in Greece to around 600 MW in H1/2022, as it is in advanced negotiations and permitting stages. This includes a 250 MW landmark hybrid project combining solar and storage system which the company believes will be the 1st of this size in the country and one of 1st of its kind in Europe. Greencells expects to start construction on all its projects in 2023. It considers Greece as an important market for the company as the country holds a potential project pipeline of around 85 MW.

TotalEnergies and Amarenco win 58 MW in French tender: A joint venture of TotalEnergies and Amarenco has won a total of 194 projects representing 58 MW rooftop solar capacity in round 13 of the auction held under the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) 4. This capacity stands for 20% of the total awarded. TotalEnergies says in all 13 tender rounds of CRE 4, it has won more than 250 MW of rooftop solar capacity to date. TotalEnergies Renewables France CEO Thierry Muller said this latest tender win gets it closer to reaching its 4 GW renewables generation capacity in France by 2025. Together with Amarenco, TotalEnergies has won over 700 rooftop solar projects in France.
