TotalEnergies To Install Rooftop Solar System In Indonesia For Beiersdorf & More From Fundeen, Netto

Beiersdorf has contracted TotalEnergies to install rooftop solar plant at its Indonesian manufacturing site; Crowdfunding for 9.6 MW solar in Spain; Netto will invest in rooftop solar and heat pumps for its German stores and logistics centers.

Nivea Maker Wants Rooftop Solar In Indonesia: Germany headquartered global skin care brand Beiersdorf will get a 540 kW rooftop solar power system for its manufacturing site in Indonesia. TotalEnergies of France will equip the facility and bring the project online in June 2022. On completion, it will produce 830 MWh of clean energy annually, enabling the German company known for its brands like Nivea, to bring down its carbon emissions by around 660 tons annually. It will also be able to save electricity costs. In a statement, Beiersdorf said the solarization project in Indonesia is in line with its commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

Fundeen starts crowdfunding for solar: A crowdfunding platform for renewable energies in Spain, Fundeen has opened the same for 4.56 MW Son Sunyer II and 5.08 MW Las Andrevas solar farms in the country. The projects are coming up on the island of Mallorca in the municipalities of Palma and San Llorenc. While the Sun Sayer project is already under construction, the other project is planned to enter construction in June 2022. Of the total expected investment of €7.08 million, project developer Enerparc AG is providing equity of 40% of the cost of this 9.64 MW capacity. Netto bets on solar and heat pumps: German discount supermarket chain Netto says it will invest almost €100 million on ensuring sustainable operations of its stores and logistics centers in the country. Part of the plan is to install rooftop solar plants for more than a 100 stores and logistics centers of the company. Over the next 3 years, it will remove gas heaters, replacing these with heat pumps in some 300 stores while also installing new climate-neutral refrigerated shelves and doors for refrigeration and freezer systems. "The current energy situation with rising prices and high dependence on Russia increases the pressure to switch to significantly more energy-efficient solutions in our markets," said Ingo Panknin, CEO of Netto Deutschland and member of the Executive Board of the Salling Group. "For this reason, the entire Salling Group, including Netto Germany, decided to push ahead with the investments."
