Ignitis Group To Buy 200 MW Wind & Solar Project In Latvia & More From Voltalia, Powertis

Voltalia will build 2 projects with 90 MW combined capacity that it won under AR4 in the UK; Ignitis is buying a Latvian company that's building a 200 MW wind and solar project; Powertis and ACES plan to co-develop 340 MW solar capacity in Italy.

Voltalia bags 90 MW solar in the UK: France's Voltalia has won contracts for difference (CfD) for 90 MW solar power capacity in the UK under the Allocation Round 4 (AR4) (see UK's CfD Round 4 Secures 'Almost' 11 GW RE). This win brings it contracts for 2 projects of 45 MW capacity each, namely Clifton Solar and Higher Stockbridge Solar. Both projects are located in Dorset and scheduled to come online in Q3/2023 and Q1/2024. With these projects, its total own solar and storage capacity under operation and under construction in the UK now stands at 179 MW. In addition, its under construction and operational capacity for 3rd party clients comprises 23 solar and storage facilities with 195 MW capacity.

Ignitis to buy renewables company in Latvia: Lithuania's Ignitis Group has signed an agreement to acquire a Latvian company that's building a 200 MW wind and solar project in the country. The project is currently at early stages of development. Construction is scheduled to start in 2025-2026 and commercial operations are due in 2027-2028. Ignitis anticipates an investment of up to €270 million for the transaction to be shelled out on the achievement of development milestones. Ignitis aims to grow its total renewable energy portfolio to 4 GW by 2030.

Powertis to co-develop 340 MW solar in Italy: Spain's Soltec Power Holdings through its business division Powertis has entered an agreement with ACEA to co-develop 340 MW solar PV capacity in Italy. Soltec says at the end of H1/2022 its total solar portfolio in Italy reached more than 3.1 GW and is at different stages of development.
