Iberdrola bags floating PV plant in France; MaxSolar acquires SEAC's 3.1 GW German pipeline; RGreen loan for PAD RES for 76 MW solar in Poland; GRS constructing 82 MW solar project in Portugal for KGAL.

Iberdrola's 25 MW floating PV project: Spain's renewable energy company Iberdrola has won a French tender to develop a 25 MW floating solar power plant. The tender was launched by the Municipality of Kurtzenhouse in Alsace in June 2022 for the project to be developed on the Bischwiller gravel pit on land partially owned by the municipality. The project will occupy an area of close to 13.5 hectares out of 28 hectares available on the site. Iberdrola is already conducting environmental and technical studies to determine the technology for the project with a timeline to complete it in early 2024. Commissioning is scheduled as of now in late summer 2026. On completion, it will generate close to 27 GWh annually for an operational period of 30 years. Earlier this year, the Spanish company said it was planning a 630 kW floating solar power project in Brazil (see Iberdrola Plans 630 kW Floating Solar Project In Brazil).

MaxSolar Acquires 3.1 GW PV Project Pipeline In Germany: German solar PV EPC service provider MaxSolar has expanded its pipeline of projects under development to more than 6.5 GW with the addition of over 3.1 GW portfolio of Lower Bavaria stationed solar power developer SEAC Group. Most of this 6.5 GW capacity is located in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania region. The acquisition brings SEAC Group's development team to MaxSolar making the company one of the largest developers of solar PV projects in Germany, added the latter.

Bridge loan for Polish PV developer: Poland based renewable energy developer PAD RES has secured €38 million bridge loan from French infrastructure fund manager RGreen Invest to construct 76 MW PV capacity. The 14 commercial solar PV projects that represent this capacity will be built in Poland over the next 18 months, PAD RES said. Projects to be built vary between 1 MW to 14 MW capacity.

Gransolar building 82 MW project in Portugal: Spanish solar PV company Gransolar's EPC division GRS has started constructing 82 MW solar power plant in Portugal using over 124,000 bifacial solar panels and Monoline 2V+solar trackers from its group company PV Hardware (PVH). The project is located on a sloping area and will be grid connected to the Public Service Electricity Grid (RESP) on completion in 2024. GRS is building the 82 MW Penamacor project in Castelo Branco region for German investor and asset manager KGAL. It happens to be the 8th solar power plant of GRS in Portugal.
