145 MW solar project in Latvia: Ignitis Renewables has announced completion of the 145 MW Stelpe Solar Farm II in Latvia, with the commissioning of the 72.5 MW phase II of the project. Phase I, also with 72.5 MW capacity, is already operational. The entire project, located in the Bauska municipality, is expected to cover the electricity demand of around 70,000 households. Earlier this year, Ignitis commissioned the 94 MW Varme Solar Farm in the country. It is also working on another project, the 174 MW Tume Solar Farm, whose development is on track.
Sonnedix expands Italian portfolio: Sonnedix has acquired 5 new solar PV projects in Sicily and Lazio, representing a combined capacity of 226 MW. Its operational capacity in Italy now exceeds 800 MW, with another 500 MW under construction, putting it on track to reach 1 GW by year-end. Sonnedix says it is also expanding into energy storage, breaking ground on its first Italian battery energy storage system (BESS) – an 18 MW/4 H plant paired with a 70 MW PV project in Sicily. The company touts over 4 GW of operational renewable energy capacity in its portfolio.
160 MW in Bulgaria: 360 Energy has announced the commissioning of the 160.5 MW Maglizh Solar Park in Bulgaria, one of the largest operating PV projects in the country. Equipped with JinkoSolar panels, it will be integrated with 80 MWh of Huawei batteries in the near future. The storage component is expected to be operational in March 2026.
ENTECH acquires 159 MW in France: French renewable energy firm ENTECH Energy & Services has acquired 41 solar PV projects across Metropolitan France from TotalEnergies, representing a combined 159 MW. These include 9 projects with 31 MW capacity, 21 projects with 76 MW, and 11 projects with 52 MW. ENTECH says that this transaction is part of the fundraising through the €15 million convertible bond issuance carried out in June 2025. It follows the July 2025 acquisition of an initial portfolio of projects with a total capacity of approximately 100 MW. It is aligned with the company’s ambition to have over 350 MW of PV and storage assets by 2029.
11 MW floating solar project: Floating solar PV specialist Ciel & Terre has announced the completion of an 11.3 MW floating solar power plant in France’s Saint-Elix-le-Château. Installed by SOLVEO Energies, the project is equipped with 570 PV modules, installed on quarry ponds. SOLVEO will now install a 4 MW ground-mounted PV project next to the floating solar plant, following which both projects will be commissioned together.
