The latest innovation tender for May 1, 2024 in Germany concluded with the Bundesnetzagentur or Federal Network Agency awarding a total volume of 512 MW for solar systems and storage projects.
This was against the tendered capacity of 583 MW for which it received 48 bids with a volume of 564 MW. All the bids received were for solar systems and storage, even though it was also open to wind energy with secure generation.
The largest capacity with 24 awards and 245 MW was awarded for sites in Bavaria, followed by 79 MW in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and 73 MW in Schleswig-Holstein.
The winning bids for this round ranged from €0.0678 to €0.0917 ($0.073 to $0.099)/kWh, while the weighted average winning bid was determined as €0.0833 ($0.090)/kWh.
The agency notes that this average winning bid is significantly lower than the €0.0918/kWh tariff cap for this category (see Bundesnetzagentur Leaves Innovation Tender Tariff Unchanged).
