The Federal Network Agency of Germany (Bundesnetzagentur) has published the latest data for solar PV installation in the country for the month of November 2020 that shows the country added 480.849 MW. This is not only way ahead of 270.5 MW the country registered in November 2019 but also the highest the country has recorded during any month of 2020 (see Germany Installed 270.5 MW New Solar In Nov 2019).
The new installation number is also an improvement over 419.5 MW Germany registered in October 2020 (before adjustment the number was shared by the agency as 421 MW) (see Germany Added 421 MW New Solar In October 2020).
Between January 2020 and November 2020, the agency registered over 4.4 GW PV installations easily crossing the 3.94 GW it reported for the year 2019 (see German PV Market Grows To 3.94 GW In 2019). If one expects the market to add another 400 MW to 500 MW in the month of December 2020, it would reach 5 GW cumulative installations for the year.
With November 2020 numbers in, Germany has now deployed over 54 GW of cumulative solar PV capacity in the country.
Recently the German Parliament Bundestag passed Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) 2021 making way for less than 5 GW solar PV capacity to be added annually till 2030 which has miffed the local industry (see German Parliament Passes EEG 2021; Industry Not Happy).
