The Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) in Greece has launched the country's 3rd joint wind and solar PV tender offering a total capacity of 350 MW to be won. It will be accepting bids till March 22, 202. An electronic auction will be held on May 24, 2021.
Under the new tender launched, solar PV projects with an installed capacity of up to 20 MW, and wind installations of up to 50 MW will be entertained. RAE has capped tariffs for this tender at €53.86 ($66.21) per MWh.
Detailed tender documents are available on RAE's website.
In the country's 1st such auction held in April 2019, RAE awarded 437.8 MW of renewable energy capacity (see Greece Awards Over 437 MW In 600 MW RE Auction). A year later in the 2nd joint auction, solar claimed lion's share winning 350 MW out of 502.94 MW awarded (see Greece Allocates Over 502 MW In Joint RE Auction).
RAE says there is 2.7 GW of renewable energy capacity in the country awarded through competitive auctions that's currently under process of implementation.
