Amara Raja contracts Nextracker for 306 MW India project; SJVN lands IREDA loan for 1 GW PV; NTPC commissions 100 MW solar; Permionics counts 10 GW solar wafer water management order; AGEL gets Zero Waste to Landfill certification from Intertek.

Nextracker lands 306 MW order in India: US solar tracker maker Nextracker has been contracted by Amara Raja Power Systems Limited to supply its bifacial trackers for 306 MW ground mounted utility scale solar project in Rajasthan. The project is part of NTPC Limited's 735 MW Nokh Solar Park.

SJVN gets loan for 1 GW solar: SJVN Green Energy Ltd has secured a 'historic' loan for INR 44.45 billion ($537 million) from the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA) for a 1 GW solar power plant in Rajasthan's Bikaner. It is IREDA's highest loan amount that will now fund the project which SJVN won under the CPSU Phase II Scheme (tranche-II) tender organized by IREDA.

NTPC commissions 100 MW PV: NTPC has commissioned 100 MW out of 300 MW Nokhra Solar PV Project at Bikaner in Rajasthan. This follows Devikot Solar PV Projects with 150 MW and 90 MW PV capacities in Jaisalmer brought online in on December 13, 2022. This month, India's largest utility also announced bringing online 162.27 MW solar PV capacity out of 230 MW Ettayapuram PV facility in Tamil Nadu. With this, the company has expanded its standalone installed and commercial capacity to 58.21 GW while group installed and commercial capacity to 70.8 GW. It has also crossed 1 GW of annual renewable energy capacity in FY 2023.

10 GW solar wafer order for Permionics: Liquid separation and membrane technology company Permionics Membranes Pvt. Ltd. has announced receiving contract to provide its water management systems to service 10 GW solar wafer and ingot/wafer manufacturing capacity in India. The Gujarat based company says around 1 million liters of purified water per day is required to produce 1 GW wafer capacity. This semiconductor grade water or 18Meg Ohm water is the purest form of water and needs a complex and expensive purification process. The wastewater also needs to be recycled and reused to make the solar wafer production process more sustainable. The company claims it has mastered the technology required for total water and waste management in the solar wafer manufacturing process.

AGEL gets Intertek certification: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) says it has received the Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) certification from Intertek for 100% of its operating capacity. According to the certification, 'AGEL has in place a fully effective waste management system for all its operational sites'. The company claims to have successfully achieved the landfill diversion rate of 99%, aligned with its target to become a ZWL certified company for 100% of its operating capacity by 2024-25. AGEL currently touts a portfolio of 20.4 GW of operational, under-construction, awarded and acquired renewable energy assets, mainly comprising solar PV and wind energy.
