Borosil Renewables raises INR 2 billion to more than double solar glass capacity: Indian solar glass manufacturer Borosil Renewables has raised INR 2 billion ($27 million) through qualified institutions placement (QIP) from private equity firm Convergent Finance LLP among other investors. In a statement released to announce the same, Borosil Renewables said it will use these proceeds to invest and expand its existing production capacities in Bharuch, Gujarat targeting to more than double its solar glass production capacity from 450 tons a day to 950 tons a day. It said 450 tons a day is enough to produce 2.5 GW of solar modules annually.

Tata Hitachi expanding its onsite solar capacity: India based JV between Tata Motors and Japan's Hitachi Construction Company, Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery Company's plant in Kharagpur, West Bengal has got its onsite solar power unit capacity expanded from 5 MW to 10.5 MW. The original capacity of the project installed and supplying power to Tata Hitachi since 2018 is 5 MW which has now been expanded by an additional 10 MW taking the total to 10.5 MW which Amp Energy calls as the largest behind-the-meter project in Eastern India.

Consultant needed for 1.06 GW solar rooftop capacity in Bangalore: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has sought proposals from consultants to be appointed for demand aggregation and for the implementation of 1.06 GW of grid connected solar rooftop PV systems in its jurisdiction. Broad scope of work includes study of rooftop PV policy and regulations, evaluation of business models proposed by the state electricity regulatory commission for deployment of this capacity, identify and facilitate onboarding of target consumers/consumer clusters/areas for its deployment. Selected consultant will be hired for a period of 6 months. Last date to submit bids is January 1, 2021.
