125 MW AC RECPDCL PV tender : REC Power Distribution Company Limited (RECPDCL) has launched a tender to solicit bids from EPC service providers to set up 125 MW AC solar PV capacity at 2 locations in Uttar Pradesh (UP). Operation and maintenance (O&M) for 3 years is also part of the job description. The project capacity will be divided into 2 packages of 50 MW AC to be located at village Gujrai in Akbarpur township of district Kanpur Dehat, and the other 75 MW AC solar PV plant will be stationed at Gurhah village in Orai township in Jalaun district. Last date to submit bids is August 12, 2021, according to tender documents .
500 MW tender oversubscribed : Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) had issued a tender for 500 MW capacity to be established in Neemuch Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh in 2018 and then reissued in January 2020, according to Mercom India Research. It now quotes its sources to claim the tender has been oversubscribed by 7 GW. There are 15 interested companies for this capacity, comprising Aljomaih Energy and Water Company as the sole international bidder. Remaining competitors include Avaada Energy, NHDC, Azure Power, ACME Solar Holdings, ReNew Solar Park, GAIL (India), Torrent Power, SJVN, TP (Tata Power) Saurya, Ayana Renewable Power Five, NTPC Renewables, Sprng Akshaya Urja, Beempow Energy (O2 Power), and ABREL SPV 2 (Aditya Birla Group).
Tata Power DDL meets 100% RPC : Electric utility Tata Power DDL claims to have become the 1 st utility in Delhi to have met 100% renewable purchase compliance (RPC), having sourced over 2,000 million units of green power as solar, wind , hydro, and waste-to-energy. In a statement, the utility said it fulfilled its renewable purchase obligation (RPO) for FY 2020-21 through physical power, without purchasing renewable energy certificates (REC). It counts this as adding up to an estimated 25% of total units sold to its consumers in North and North West part of Delhi. "We have made adequate tie-ups for meeting the future RPO targets as well.As a progressive step towards providing opportunity to non-open access consumers to use renewable energy, we have already approached the regulator for devising the mechanism by way of 'Green Tariff' so that renewable sources are utilized for sourcing power, "said Tata Power- DDL CEO Ganesh Srinivasan.
$ 334 million raised by ACME Solar : ACME Solar has raised $ 334 million by issuing offshore green bonds, according to a Press Trust of India (PTI) report referring to a company statement. It said 12 projects of ACME Solar Holdings Private Ltd agreed to a debt investment of close to $ 334 million to be funded by US $ denominated green bonds that were successfully priced. Bonds will be issued by an offshore company, and proceeds deployed for subscription of non-convertible debentures issued by the company's projects. "This was the right time for us to diversify our lender base and tap the overseas markets that are deeper and provide an alternative capital source for stable and diversified renewable assets" said ACME Solar CFO Neeraj Gupta.
