REIL seeks 200,000 solar cells: The Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL) Jaipur has launched yet another tender seeking the supply of multicrystalline silicon solar cells with a combined capacity of 200,000 to be procured as 100,000 each of 4.50W and 4.60W. These cells should be multi-busbar (MBB) with 200 +/- 20 μm thickness. REIL prefers PECVD silicon nitride deep blue color as the anti-reflection coating. Bids of only those suppliers who are approved with REIL for the required item will be considered in the tender. As per the notice issued, last date to submit bids is Decc 21, 2020. Recently, it sought bids for 5,000 mono PERC cells (see India PV News Snippets: MNRE, Visaka, Mitsui, REIL, SJVN).

E-commerce website gets solar power: Indian lifestyle products e-commerce website Myntra has got solar panels installed for 2 of its 4 fulfilment centers. The rooftop solar panels have come up on the centers located in Bhiwandi near Mumbai and in Bilaspur near Gurgaon. With the help of over 3,800 solar panels, Myntra will be able to generate electricity to meet 35% of its operational demand. The company's CEO Amar Nagaram said during the 13th edition of its End of Reason Sale (EORS) between December 20 to 24, 2020, these 2 fulfilment centers will deliver more than 50% orders for the firm.

Draft tender under PM-KUSUM Scheme: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has invited comments on a draft tender for component B of Pradhan Mantri Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme. During FY 2020-21, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) installers of standalone pumps will be selected through competitive bidding. The draft tender specifies scope of work as design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing and commissioning of off grid solar PV water pumping systems of 1 to 10 horsepower (HP) in selected states on Pan India basis.

Under the scheme, India wants to encourage farmers to adopt solar power to bring down the use of diesel for farming related work. It plans to do this through the installation of 10 GW of decentralized ground mounted grid connected renewable energy plants under component A; deployment of 2 million solar pumps to represent a combined capacity of 9.6 GW under component B; and solarization of 1.5 million grid connected solar powered agricultural pumps by individual farmers with a total installed capacity of 11.2 GW under component C (see MNRE Revises Solar Target Under PM-KUSUM Scheme).

NLC India launches 10 MW tender: NLC India Ltd. has issued a tender for 10 MW AC grid interactive captive solar power plant at Neyveli TS. It has invited EPC bidders to set up this capacity to be transferred to NLC India on commissioning. Last date to submit bids is Jan. 11, 2021.
