Solar capacity tendered in India in the month of February 2017 reached a total of 70.8 MW. This was 92% less than the 931 MW tendered in the previous month, according to Mercom Capital Group. Most of the February capacity – 49.8 MW equal to over 70% – was tendered for rooftop solar systems.
The highest rooftop capacity of 37.8 MW was tendered by Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA) (see Rooftop Solar Tender In Jammu & Kashmir). Another 30 MW came from different government agencies in West Bengal, including a 10 MW capacity tendered by the West Bengal Renewable Energy Development Agency (see WBREDA Tenders 10 MW Rooftop Solar).
In terms of auctions, total PV capacity auctioned in the month of February was 750 MW, which was all coming from the Rewa Solar Park (see Record Low Tariff Offers In 750 MW Rewa Tender). Compared to this, in January only 504 MW was auctioned.
