It is expected to generate more than 130 million kWh annually and will help bring down electricity prices, stated National Energy Commission (CNE). While inaugurating the project, the country's President Luis Abinader said under his administration there has been a record investment of $800 million in PV projects and that since 2021 the government has signed contracts for 620 MW of solar PV projects. This, he said, is more than double the number of solar projects signed in more than a decade.
