Brazil's ANEEL has rescheduled A-5 New Energy Auction for October 14, 2022; Soltec has commissioned its 1st solar plant in Brazil's Pedranópolis municipality; EGP Chile has grid connected 161 MW solar plant in the country.

Brazil's A-5 auction on October 14, 2022: Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) has announced the country will be holding this year's A-5 New Energy Auction on October 14, 2022, instead of September 16, 2022. The development follows the agency suspending the auction citing inconsistency in auction management system (see Brazil's ANEEL Suspends A-5 New Energy Auction). As per the revised schedule, proposal guarantees submitted between May 5, 2022 to August 9, 2022 will be returned and online applications submitted till October 3, 2022.

Soltec completes its maiden solar plant in Brazil: Spain's Soltec has grid connected its 1st solar plant in Brazil through its project development business arm Powertis. The 112.5 MW Pedranópolis facility is located in the Pedranópolis municipality and is equipped with 210,000 solar panels along with 3,750 Soltec SFOne trackers. The project was built for an investment worth €80 million. Powertis currently holds 4.5 GW portfolio in the pipeline in Brazil, at various stages of development.

EGP commissions 161 MW solar plant in Chile: Enel Chile through its subsidiary Enel Green Power Chile (EGP Chile) has secured authorization from the country's National Electric Coordinator to start commercial operations of 161 MW Sol de Lila Solar Power Plant. The project is located in Atacama desert and Antofagasta region. It is expected to generate around 500 GWh annually for some 167,000 homes. It has 407,400 bifacial monocrystalline solar panels installed.
