The Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) has invited expression of interest (EoI) for the development of a 500 MW solar park in Dondaicha and 1,500 MW for agriculture projects across Maharashtra.
Developers, EPC companies and investors were invited to suggest the same at a recent meeting held by the agency.
MAHAGENCO is aiming for 1,500 MW in the agriculture sector by construction of solar projects from 2 to 50 MW across the state.
Maharashtra has to comply with a renewable purchase obligation (RPO) of 12.50% in fiscal year 2017-18, with solar's share at 2%. Next financial year, 2018-19, solar's share needs to increase to 2.75% out of the total RPO of 13.75%, according to market intelligence firm Mercom Capital Group.
Further details about the EoI are available on MAHAGENCO's website.
