DTE Energy’s RFP For 20 MW Solar Power Project In US & More

Greenbacker acquires 18.4 MW DC solar: Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company LLC (GREC) has acquired 2 pre-operational solar projects at Denver International Airport (DEN) with a combined capacity of 18.4 MW DC, from Oak Leaf Energy Partners. Both DIA 7 Solar project with 12.4 MW DC and DIA 8 Solar Project with 6.0 MW DC capacity are co-located with several other existing projects Greenbacker says it owns in its fleet at the airport. Both the projects have long term power purchase agreements (PPA) with the DEN. While DIA 7 will enter commercial operations in Q1/2022, DIA 8 will enter construction in Q1/2022 and come online by Q3/2021.

RFP for 20 MW solar project: Detroit, US based DTE Energy has launched an open request for proposal (RFP) to provide EPC services for a 20 MW solar power project in Washtenaw County. The project is the company's 1st MIGreenPower Community Solar Project, and the largest in the region, according to the company. MIGreenPower Community is a voluntary renewable energy program for DTE Energy's customers to match their energy use to the company's solar and wind projects. The 20 MW facility is designed to support the City of Ann Arbor and Pittsfield Township with achieving their clean energy goals. DTE Energy said all its customers can also subscribe to the project that's scheduled to come online in 2023. DTE Energy wants interested bidders to register to participate in the tender. DSD grows solar portfolio to 22.3 MW: Distributed Solar Development (DSD) has acquired a 15.6 MW community solar energy portfolio from Source Renewables. It is also in the process of acquiring another project from the same seller which will expand its total portfolio to 22.3 MW. All the 4 projects here are located in Cortland, Onondaga and Madison counties and expected to come online by Q3/2022. Back in December 2020, DSD had announced acquisition of 17 MW community solar portfolio in New York from Source Renewables. BlackRock Real Assets backed DSD raised $300 million as debt facility in January 2021 from Credit Suisse (see $300 Million Financing For Distributed Solar Development).
