SoftBank's SB Energy and Adani Green were the only 2 bidders for Solar Energy Corporation of India's (SECI) wind-solar hybrid tender after original capacity was reduced from 2.5 GW to 1.2 GW. The tender received bids adding up to 1.05 GW, but SECI awarded only 840 MW, reported Mercom India Research (see 1.2 GW SECI Tender Receives Bids For 1.05 GW).
SECI confirmed receiving a lowest tariff of INR 2.67 ($0.03794) per kWh from SB Energy for 450 MW of wind-solar hybrid projects, while Adani Green quoted INR 2.69 ($0.03822) per kWh to develop 390 MW. Adani had bid for 600 MW, but won only 390 MW.
Mercom quoted a SECI official saying that the auction was a success, even though only 2 bidders participated in the tender as the agency was able to get tariffs lower than the ceiling of INR 2.70 ($0.03836) per kWh. This cap was a reduction from the original INR 2.93 ($0.04163) per kWh.
Recently, SECI awarded Shapoorji Pallonji 50 MW out of a 150 MW floating solar PV tender for INR 3.29 ($0.047) per kWh to be developed on Rihand Dam in Uttar Pradesh (see SECI Awards 50 MW Floating PV Capacity).
